Meet the Maker: Behind the Glow of Candle Cabana

Welcome! I'm Kelly — the owner of Candle Cabana, a natural soy candle company based in Connecticut.

I started Candle Cabana after being laid off from my luxury fashion job during the pandemic. While navigating that transition, I dove into research and discovered that the paraffin wax candles I had been burning were filled with harmful toxins and chemicals. Not only was I exposing myself, but also my family and pets. That realization sparked a full shift — and a new passion.

Three years later, Candle Cabana is now a growing business rooted in clean-burning, thoughtfully made soy candles.

Today, every candle is hand-poured in small batches using 100% natural soy wax, clean fragrance oils, and cotton wicks, with the occasional addition of liquid dye that meets CandleScience CleanScents+® standards to ensure safety without compromising on beauty.

What started as a small idea has grown beyond what I ever imagined: we’ve shipped candles to all 50 states, partnered with over 120 retail stockists across the U.S., and are now expanding into international markets.

Every candle is hand-poured in small batches, every scent is carefully selected, and every label is designed with heart.

Current favorites? Definitely Lavender Vanilla and Golden Sunset.
